A short and easy roundtrip. Combine it with a very special hiking experience.
In Teigebyen, you will find cafés and restaurants, and the Nannestad Village Museum is also located here. Return through open agricultural landscapes with farms all around. The route rises and falls gently on well-maintained gravel roads. Along Nannestadveien, there is a 1.5 km stretch with some car traffic before you rejoin the pedestrian and cycle path.
Towards the end of the tour, the hiking trail starts just south of the airport. Walk into the ravine landscape. This is a 2,5 km hiking trail out-and-back that gradually descends all the way to the quiet river Sogna at the bottom of the valley. There are several rest areas with benches on the way down. Down in the valley, there is a unique sense of calm – even though the airport is nearby and aircraft can be heard at regular intervals. This place also holds an important piece of history: in the ravine, there is a memorial marking the 1945 aircraft crash connected to Operation Doomsday.
