The route on your phone
Become a member to use the route with your phone. You can use the app, or open the GPX file in another map app or GPS device.
Bring all you need to eat and drink, there will be no place to buy anything. Today’s stage isn’t very long, but there will be some elevation gain and descent. You are in the heart of Telemark, surrounded by tranquil nature. Keep your eyes open for wildlife in the area. You’ll also pass by some small farms along the way.
When you reach Bandaksli, you might see M/S Viktoria or M/S Henrik Ibsen gliding by, if you´re lucky. This journey ends in Dalen, where you’ll find a pier café, shops, a sauna by the lake, and the majestic Dalen Hotel. You’ve reached the end of the Canal Route. Take the boat back to Skien and enjoy the landscape slowly from deck. You may also choose to continue cycling over the mountains into Agder and follow the Setesdal Route to Kristiansand, if you are up for more cycling.
