Norway's westernmost city – surrounded by mountains and sea and numerous small islands
Visit the small island Askrova and combine easy cycling with great hikes. Jump on the boat from Florø harbour with your bike. The boat trip is fantastic – as you pass several other islands before entering the green island Askrova.
The cycling is easy and you will pass small farms with sheeps – always close to the sea. If you want to explore the cave Trollhola you park your bike close to Valvika and go for a short hike. Just make sure to be at least two people and bring lights!
You will have to go back the same way. Continue towards Hammarset – it´s a little hilly – and if you want you can cycle til the end of the road. Going back, you may want to park your bike at some point and explore some really nice hiking. The surroundings are so green and fresh and you will get a wide view over the ocean. The island is correctly called “the green emerald”.
It´s also recommended to pass the bridge over to the smaller island Tansøy and bike the short road up to another great view.
We recommend to bring along what you want to eat and drink from the mainland.
The cave Trollhola is a short hike close to Valvika. Make sure to be at least two people and bring lights!
There are several good hiking trails on the island.
