This tour will take you through many of the main attractions of Bergen. Expect parks, lakes, charming narrow streets and beautiful old houses.

First stop is the colorful wooden houses at Bryggen, that has a place on UNESCO´s World Heritage List and is a living area full of local craft shops, restaurants and wooden alleys and backyards. Continue to the start of Fløibanen, where you park your bike and take the funicular to the Fløi Mountain. You can´t bring your bike to the mountain. It´s a 5-8 minutes ride and the view from the top is so beautiful, especially if the weather is good.

Back down again, you pass several places to have lunch and the cobblestone-streets takes you towards the Lille Lungegårdsvann – this pond with a lot of benches around, where the rhododendron flowers the whole summer and you can watch people strolling and relaxing. You also pass the Train Station and Bus Station so it´s easy to start from here as well. For a short distance you cycle in the streets or on pavements – which is allowed in Norway, but soon you get to a great cycle path around the Store Lungegårdsvann. You really get a nice view of the Ulriken Mountain and the houses in the hillside and there are benches and wooden piers to enjoy a rest.

The next attraction is the Nygårds Park – this large park with ponds, old trees, fountains and picnic-areas is very popular and is a tranquil spot for everyone. If you want to take a swim, there is a small beach at Marineholmen. The Corner Bar is a popular place for a drink close by.

Up the Olaf Ryes Road, you will get to the University area and the park Musé Garden is a small, cute spot. The streets here are nice and enjoy the varied architecture, before going down the steep Sydneskleiven.

Nordnes is famous for old wooden houses, steep narrow streets and a lot of charm. You may want to push your bike at some point – just imagine the horses pulling the carriage up the hills back in the days! The path towards Nordnes Park is great for cycling, there´s a lot of places with great views and the Bergen Aquarium is located here.

You follow the bike lane and the harbor back to city center and the famous Fish Market is a great place to end this trip.

It´s recommended to take this tour clock-wise due to hills and one-way directions. You can start it wherever you want.
