When you approach the center of Nannestad – which is called Teigebyen – the cycle path ends, but it is nice to cycle into the residential area and eventually on the walking path. In Teigebyen there are cafés and restaurants and the Nannestad village museum can also be visited here. The return journey goes through open agricultural landscape with farms on all sides. It goes up and down a bit on good dirt roads. At Nannestadveien there will be 1.5 km with some car traffic, before it is back on the pedestrian and cycle path.
Towards the end of the tour, it is recommended to park the bikes by the hiking trail just south of the airport and walk into the ravine landscape. This is a hiking trail that gradually descends all the way to the quiet river Sogna at the bottom of the valley. There are several rest areas on the trip and there is also a signposted path to the war memorial. Here in the valley floor, there is a calm of its own – even though you are close to the airport and hear the air traffic at regular intervals.
The biggest aviation museum in southern Norway, with over 40 aircraft on display, including all coldwar era fighter jets used by the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
The museum contains SAS's history and is filled with memorabilia from the beginning to the present day. Try the flight simulator and enjoy the view from the lookout tower. Open Sundays and Tuesdays.
When you get to Teigebyen, it's a good idea to stop for lunch. Here are several restaurants to choose from.
Just outside the airport area there is an interesting ravine landscape with some sections of old agricultural landscape. Very peaceful and beautiful!
