Today’s ride is short and easy, a perfect day to enjoy the scenery without too much effort. Make sure to bring everything you need, as there are no shops along the way.

The journey starts with a gentle ride out of Kvinesdal, following the Kvina River and passing through an industrial area. Kvinesdal is known for its hydropower production and ice-free harbor, making it an attractive location for energy-intensive industries.

After a few kilometers, the challenge begins—a series of winding hairpin turns gradually leading uphill. The roads are quiet and peaceful, with minimal traffic, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature. As you climb, you’ll pass through forests, mountains, farms, and cabins, each adding to the ever-changing landscape.

Your destination, Flekkefjord, has a fascinating history. The town once thrived on trade with the Netherlands, and many Dutch settlers made their home here, earning it the nickname “Hollenderbyen” (The Dutch Town). The charming cobblestone streets and white wooden houses give the old town a picturesque and welcoming feel. Flekkefjord is also known for its street art, adding a vibrant and artistic touch to its historical charm. If you have time, visit Flekkefjord Museum or join a City Walk.

Alternative ending: Continue the cycling for another 9 km to the island Hidra. A short ferry takes you to this charming summer paradise. To Kongshamn Guesthouse in Kirkehamn it´s another 6 km.
