The journey starts in Mandal, a charming coastal town with beautiful views along the harbor and sandy beaches. Before leaving Mandal, make sure to visit the Uranienborg viewpoint, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Continue along the waterfront and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
Another must-see is Sjøsanden, a stunning beach surrounded by the lush Furulunden forest, a perfect outdoor recreation area. The area is home to several beaches lined up one after another. In the past, this was an open plain, but trees were planted to provide shelter from the harsh sea winds. Nearby, you can also visit Lordens Lysthus and the elegant Risebank mansion.
Leaving Mandal, the route towards Ullfabrikken and beyond is quite enjoyable, with a dedicated bike path making for a safe ride. The scenery features winding, narrow country roads that add to the charm of the journey. After 11 km, you’ll reach Vigeland, a small town with several cafés and eateries, making it a great spot for a break. From Vigeland to Snik, there is a pedestrian and cycling path, but after that, you will be sharing the road with cars. At 15 km, you will arrive in Spangereid, where you can find shops and restaurants. If you choose to stay overnight, Lindesnes Havhotell is a great option. To visit the southernmost point on the Norwegian mainland, continue to Lindesnes. At Lindesnes Lighthouse, you can explore the historic site, visit the museum, and take in the spectacular coastal views. There are also a few overnight accommodations at the lighthouse itself. Return
Heading towards Lyngdal, traffic can be heavier in some sections, especially after Spangereid. The climb ahead can seem daunting, starting gradually but then becoming quite steep with hairpin turns. If needed, walking the steepest parts is perfectly fine—it’s all part of the adventure! Once you conquer the climb, you will enjoy a fast and thrilling descent into Lyngdal, arriving in no time. Lyngdal offers a lovely beach and a cozy beach hotel, along with plenty of camping options. The town also features a water park, with both indoor and outdoor pools. If you need to stock up on supplies, it’s just 1 km from the beach to the town center, where you’ll find shops and other amenities.
