The first part along the cycle path between Drammen and Sande is not the most exciting, but it is safe and eventually opens up more with agricultural landscape. In Sande there are cafes and shops before the road continues towards Holmestrand and follows the old railway which has been converted into a very good hiking and cycling trail. The surface is firm gravel and several places you get a nice view of the fjord.

Holmestrand is a small town with a wharf and harbor life. Further towards Horten, there are some hills to be forced through cozy farmland. Horten is a town with all facilities and the ferry from Moss arrives here.

The last stretch of today’s tour passes through one of Vestfold’s nicest paths – along the sea and through small woods and flower meadows. There are several swimming opportunities along the way and the Borrehaugene with the Midgard Viking Center is absolutely worth taking in. Today’s goal – Åsgårdstrand is a small, hilly harbor town with narrow streets and white houses. Here you can also visit Edvard Munch’s house.
