It´s a short an easy ride from Sandefjord to Stavern. The route takes you along the coast, offering a blend of history, nature, and coastal scenery.

Continue toward Larvik on small winding roads in a cultural landscape. At Bjønnes there´s a great place for a swim at the harbour. Kaupang – the viking city – is open in summer time with a lot of activities. Larvik is a hilly town, and the city center is located uphill. Bøkeskogen – a tranquil beech forest is ideal for a break. Nearby, you can see Farrisvannet, a freshwater lake known for its clean water and surrounding nature. In Larvik, there’s also the opportunity to catch a ferry to Hirtshals, Denmark.

From Larvik to Stavern, it´s easy cycling and the route runs close to the coast. Once in Stavern, explore the town’s harbor, art galleries, and local history. You can also take a boat trip to the Svenner Lighthouse, which provides views of the surrounding sea and islands. Check info at: Svenner Lighthouse. For those who enjoy hiking, the nearby archipelago offers quiet trails and a chance to experience the coastal landscape. Consider a short detour to Mølen, a geological site with stone beaches and ancient burial mounds that offer insight into the area’s history and unique landscapes.

Stavern is a great place to end your ride, with several accomodations.
