A long day, with a beautiful ferry ride half way!

About 11 km after leaving Leirvik, make the little detour on the pathway to Sagvåg – a small, charming fishing village. Next is a hilly section – partly on shared roads with some traffic. The landscape is dominated by forest, lakes and farmland with some views of the sea and surrounding mountains in the distance. Fitjar offers stores and food. Continue another 7 km to the ferry at Sandvikvåg. The sailing takes 40 minutes and you get a great view of the glacier Folgefonna to the east and the scenicc archipelago to the west.

From Os, the route follows well-maintained pedestrian and cycling paths on easy-to-ride roads, passing several lakes along the way. After about 10 kilometers, the cycling path branches off at Kalandseidet. Here, the route takes you along a scenic stretch by Kalandsvannet, following quiet and peaceful trails that trace the old Os Railway line. Along this route, there are several sights worth stopping for, such as Stend Hovedgård with its beautiful garden, Stend Farm Shop offering local products, and Hordamuseet, showcasing historic buildings.

The final stretch into Bergen continues on excellent cycling paths and small roads. Along the way, you’ll pass several notable attractions, including Troldhaugen and Gamlehaugen. The journey takes you through bustling city streets, past Store og Lille Lungegårdsvann, and finally down to the iconic Bryggen in Bergen, a perfect ending to your ride.
