This epic round trip is the ultimate challenge for adventurous cyclists. Spanning two countries – Sweden and Norway – it takes you from the Gulf of Bothnia in the east to the Norwegian Sea in the west, and back again. With long daily stages, remote stretches between settlements, and the need to handle unforeseen challenges on your own, this route isn’t for the faint-hearted. But if you take on the full 1200 km, you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable experience.

Follow the course of serene river valleys, glide along shimmering lake shores and dramatic fjords. Ride through dense forests, across marshlands, over snow-capped mountains, and cross the Arctic Circle. During the summer solstice, you’ll experience 24-hour daylight, adding a surreal touch to your journey.

The route follows the same path as the annual Midnight Sun Randonnee, a cycling event held in mid-June where participants complete the distance in 3-4 days. For a more relaxed approach, we’ve suggested dividing the trip into 15 daily stages, based on the availability of accommodations along the way. Of course, you’re free to plan your own itinerary to match your pace and preferences.

Be prepared for stretches on shared roads with cars, as parts of the route follow main highways. However, most of the journey takes place on low-traffic, paved roads. This adventure is as challenging as it is rewarding—a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes of Scandinavia.
