Mjøstråkk-signs

A real mountain tour on fine gravel roads.

After the town of Skreia, the tour begins to climb up Totenåsen. The hills are long, so remember to turn around occasionally to take in the view. Ahead lies a 14 km stretch with a 500-meter ascent to the highest point at 628 meters above sea level. The landscape gradually changes from farms and fields to more and more forest on good gravel roads. Here in the middle of the forest, you’ll find Grøna – a well-maintained old farm with a lot of history. By arrangement, it is also possible to stay overnight here. Further up the mountain, you pass Torsetra, where there is occasionally a café, but to be safe, it is recommended to bring all necessary food and drink. Be mindful at Torsetra to take the correct path onward.

The surroundings are characterized by cabins, sheep and goats, lakes, and rivers. It is idyllic, quiet, and peaceful. Blueberries grow in the forest. From Lake Øyungen, the descent begins. Once you reach Hurdal, you´ll find a place to eat and a grocery store. Here you leave the Mjøstråkk route for about 5 km to reach Hurdalsjøen Hotel, where there are accommodation option by the idyllic Lake Hurdalsjøen.
