A short, easy, and delightful stage through lush agricultural landscapes.

Starting from Tangen, the route begins with a couple of kilometers on asphalt before transitioning to gravel roads that take you uphill. Here, amidst the tranquility of the forest, you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of birdsong. The descent towards Stange is beautiful, and this area is dotted with large, well-maintained farms. Many of these farms offer farm shops with local products. Stop by Fredheim for ice cream and coffee while enjoying the wonderful view of Lake Mjøsa, or visit Søndre Elton Farm when the strawberries are ripe – it doesn’t get more local than this! Atlungstad Distillery, with a history dating back to 1855, still produces aquavit from potatoes. They offer tours and tastings all year round.

As you head towards Hamar, follow the bike path along Stangeveien, where you can see the Vikingskipet, an iconic sports hall built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, shaped like an inverted Viking ship.

Upon reaching Hamar, your tour around Lake Mjøsa is complete. Congratulations – you have cycled around Norway’s largest lake!
