You continue cycling along Numedalslågen and the first part of today’s stage is on small roads along the river towards Lampeland – a small town with a cozy hotel with food shops, and a well-stocked sports store.
The route ahead is easy to bike along low-traffic backroads winding up the Numedal; also known as the Medieval Valley, a name it has earned due to the abundance of stave churches, local historical museums, and traditional storehouses dating back to that era. Visit the Open Air Museum and the Rollag Stave Church as good examples. The museum offers a fine collection of old, historic farm buildings. It’s a nice spot for a break, and in the summer, there’s a café on site.
Enjoy quiet roads, bordered by pine trees. Shorter distances there will be some cycling in the busy Numedalsvegen.
