Welcome to Bergen!
From Os, the route follows well-maintained pedestrian and cycling paths on easy-to-ride roads, passing several lakes along the way. After about 10 kilometers, the cycling path branches off at Kalandseidet. Here, the route takes you along a scenic stretch by Kalandsvannet, following quiet and peaceful trails that trace the old Os Railway line. Along this route, there are several sights worth stopping for, such as Stend Hovedgård with its beautiful garden, Stend Farm Shop offering local products, and Hordamuseet, showcasing historic buildings.
The final stretch into Bergen continues on excellent cycling paths and small roads. Along the way, you’ll pass several notable attractions, including Troldhaugen and Gamlehaugen. The journey takes you through bustling city streets, past Store og Lille Lungegårdsvann, and finally down to the iconic Bryggen in Bergen, a perfect ending to your ride.
This open air museum features a rich collection of historic buildings and fascinating traces of prehistoric settlements.
The castle Gamlehaugen with its characteristic tower is easy to see, and a great place for a rest. The gardens are open for everyone and you may also visit the museum-part.
A short detour of 1 km to Troldhaugen – the home of Edvard Grieg, Norway´s most famous composer. It´s a charming house, a museum, park and café.
