When you bike from Hamar towards Lillehammer it is nice to see Domkirkeodden which is beautifully situated along Lake Mjøsa. There is both the Railway Museum and a large open-air museum that can be visited, in addition to Fiskerhytta Fagervik cafe which is open during the summer season.
You pass through Brumunddal and Moelv on hilly small rural roads. Prøysenhuset offers guided tours, exhibitions and dining. After Moelv follows approx. 12 km with a fairly busy road before it again turns into a quieter and idyllic gravel road. Once in Lillehammer, it is well worth taking Maihaugen with its outdoor museum.
Public transport: You can travel by train to/from Hamar and Lillehammer and you can bring your bicycle on the train. See vy.no for more details.
