The first attraction from Brennemoen is Høytorp Fort. It gives a little extra height meters to take the detour up the hill, but it is a very nice view from the top and interesting to see. Mysen is a small town with a train station and what else you need. Feel free to join Bamsrudlåven, which sells self-produced ice cream and the shop is always open! From Hærland there is a cozy gravel road before you come down to Lundeby. Remember swimwear, by Lundebyvannet there is a popular swimming area.
You cycle on small roads with little traffic. The landscape is characterized by farms. When you approach Ørje, a nice view opens up towards Rødnessjøen. This is an easy-to-cycle stretch and even though it is cycled on a country road, there is little traffic, quiet and calm. Once in Ørje, you must see the delicious baked goods at Bakergaarden Cafe. Here are also the canal boats that run along the Halden Canal and you can visit the canal museum.
From Ørje it is not far to the Swedish border. There are a number of road works along the route in 2022, so the route has been temporarily changed a bit. Feel free to follow the digital map if you do not find signs. The hiking trail you enter eventually goes through the forest and is on good gravel. The first town is Töcksfors, which is best known for cross-border trade, but which also has idyllic small lakes, locks and river cafes. Accommodation can be done at Turistgården, which has accommodation in all price ranges, from cabins to hostels to hotel rooms. Here you can borrow a boat and row to Waterside restaurant which definitely lives up to its name!
