Discover Norway’s wild south-west coast — where rolling farmland meets the open ocean, where ancient stone fences cross green hills, and where golden beaches stretch beneath an endless Nordic sky. Over four unforgettable days, you’ll experience a changing landscape shaped by sea, wind, and time itself.

The journey begins in Egersund, a charming coastal town framed by cliffs and colorful wooden houses. Your first ride follows quiet roads out toward the coast, with gentle hills, small farms, and sandy coves that invite a swim. The next day brings a real challenge — the climb to Skykula, rising more than 900 meters above the sea. The road winds through valleys and along salmon rivers before opening into vast mountain terrain, where silence and space surround you.

Leaving Egersund, the route continues north toward Bryne, following stretches of the North Sea Route and parts of the historic King’s Road over the hills. You’ll pass through peaceful farmland, along winding lanes, lighthouses and beaches. The final day brings relaxed cycling through more of the open Jæren landscape, where fields meet dunes and long beaches stretch toward the horizon. Stop by a local farm shop offering regional specialties. Good food, warm hospitality, and the calm rhythm of pedaling through this coastal countryside make it an unforgettable experience of Norway’s south-west.

There will be hills and most likely wind along the way, but your e-bike will make every climb and coastal breeze feel effortless — picked up at your arrival hotel and conveniently returned at your departure hotel. The trip can also be done the opposite direction. As there are train stations both in Bryne and Egersund, it is easy to get here by public transport.

Cycling to the mountain Skykula is a real challenge - starting from Egersund and up to 906 meters. Bring a packed lunch for the day. The route begins gently along the salmon rivers Tengs and Bjerkreimselva, before the scenery grows wilder and the mountains close in. The road rises steadily all the way to the top, where you are surrounded by silence, sky, and vast open landscapes.

The descent back down is your well-earned reward — smooth, fast, and downhill back to Egersund. End the day with another great meal at the hotels restaurant.

Today you leave charming Egersund. The old railtrack of Jærbanen has been transformed to a gravel leasure path that runs on both sides of the existing railtrack, and with some great views over the coast. The next section is passing over the highlands following the ancient main road and it´s really beautiful and quiet. No cars, just you and the birds and the sheeps. The hills are steep up and down. Coming down from the mountains to the seaside on the other side is great fun.

From here it´s ocean, beaches, sky and farmland. Add on a lot of historical buildings, the classical Jæren stone fences, museums and lighthouse. Stop at Hå Gamle Prestegård with a gallery and cozy café by the beach. The last stretch leads you along the countryside roads to Bryne Kro & Hotell, where you will stay the next two nights. Here you can relax and really enjoy dinner at the hotel´s restaurant.

The ride begins in Bryne, following the bike path around Frøylandsvatnet and crossing the elegant, architectural Midgardsormen Bridge. Make a stop at the charming Drivhuset Café, a favorite among locals. The route continues on quiet country roads past an old mill, winding through fertile farmland where spring arrives early and winter is short.

All around, the stone fences tell stories of hard work — reminders of the effort it once took to clear these fields of rocks. As you descend toward the coast, the landscape opens up and a string of long, golden beaches appears. This stretch of Jæren’s coastline is famous for its waves, and if you’d like, you can add a surfing lesson to your day before cycling back to the hotel in Bryne. Dinner is served at the hotel´s restaurant - after a long and explorative day.

Alternative for this day is just surfing class and maybe a shorter bike ride.
