As you cycle on the old gravel roads, you will see small lakes and creeks as well as pretty summer meadows where livestock graze. You will also pass several idyllic summer farms which are called “støler” in Norwegian and from which the name “Stølsvidda” comes from. Stølsvidda is one of the most beautiful regions in Valdres, and it offers incredible views of the Norwegian landscape. Be sure to stop and take in the stunning views of the Gilafjell, Grønnsenknippa, Storlifjell and Golsfjellet snow-covered mountaintops as you cycle along the South Route. Norwegians love a traditional packed lunch, and there are several rustic benches along this trail where you can stop and enjoy a bite to eat in the fresh mountain air before getting back on your bike.
Price for children (6-12 years) 3 950 NOK.

Starting at the Kamben Mountain Lodge in Golsfjellet, the route takes you on a scenic journey over the Stølsvidda to the charming mountain village of Vaset called Gomobu, where you'll cycle along a calm, quiet road that's mainly used by cyclists, and enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Jotunheimen and the mountains surrounding Hemsedal Valley. Enjoy a 5 course dinner made from local ingredients.
Cycle on nice mountain roads in beautiful mountain landscape with views to mountains in Hemsedal and Jotunheimen. There is gentle terrain and good roads, you are guaranteed to encounter grazing animals that stroll freely around the mountains. Stop by Langestølen, which sells waffles, among more, or stop by Nøsen yoga and mountain hotel to jump on the trampoline. An alternative stop is an exotic lake with a white beach, it is shallow water, perfect for children. You may need to share it with the cows that are there to drink. If you want to explore the summer farm life up close, stop by Lisjordet stølen to watch the cows being milked and perhaps have the opportunity to pet them.
Arriving at Gomobu, you might want something good to drink on your outdoor terrace, or take a trip to the sauna before dinner.
Day two is somewhat shorter, and goes as a round trip back to Kamben. Maybe you will meet the milk truck that is on its way to pick up its goods from the farms. Or stop by a milk ramp to eat your lunch if it's a bit windy. Valtjernet is also a great opportunity for a break, where you can take a mini hike up the Valtjernknatten (60 meters up from the road) for even better views.
