Sarpsborg was founded in 1016 and the area is rich in history. This bicycle package will take you to Sandtangen with a nice view over the Isnes fjord and Vestvannet – a beautiful lake and Nature Reserve. You will also visit Soli Brug Art Gallery and experience art, culture and industrial history.

Summer in Sarpsborg offers light, bright, sunny days. Sarpsborg has been nicknamed the Sun City. In the city centre, there is a good range of restaurants, cafés, culture and nice shopping. If you want to have dinner at the hotel, you can book a table in the nice restaurant.
Today's cycle tour goes west out of Sarpsborg. You cycle out of the city and into the forest along Gamle Kongevei. The route crosses safely over the E6, follow around Kalnes hospital, and continue on the village road out to Sandtangen. Here you get a nice view of the Isnesfjord and Vestvannet. You cycle on roads with very little traffic.
Vestvannet is a beautiful lake and Nature Reserve. The area is protected to preserve the unique bird life by the lake. On the way back to the hotel, you can stop at one of the cozy cafes in central Sarpsborg. DInner at the hotel or in a restaurant in town.
Today's goal is Soli Brug, a fantastic place for those who like art, culture and good food. As early as the 17th century, timber was cut on Sanne and Soli Brug. Since the mid-1970s, Soli Brug has been a center for art. Significant art exhibitions are organized here.
In historic surroundings, you can experience art in four houses and visit the nice restaurant by the pond. Soli Brug is owned and operated by the Dørje family. On the yard there is a framework workshop and a studio.
