The route begins in Halden, near the Swedish border, with highlights like the mighty Fredriksten Fortress and the elegant Rød Manor. From here, the ride follows calm rural roads through farmland and historic landscapes, with opportunities to visit sites like the Gjellestad Viking ship and Hafslund Manor. A scenic stretch along the Glommastien path brings you past cultural landmarks and lush riverside trails, ending in the charming Old Town of Fredrikstad with cobbled streets and cozy cafés.
Continuing north, the route weaves through forests, farmland, and coastal paths — with swim spots, sea views, and small towns like Moss and Son adding to the charm. Expect a mix of paved roads and gravel, with gentle hills and occasional traffic, but also long stretches of peaceful riding. The final approach into Oslo follows a dedicated bike path along the fjord, leading you straight into the vibrant city center. This route offers a little of everything: nature, culture, coastline — and the feeling of arriving somewhere truly special.
