The bike ride from Camp Vuoggatjålme to Arjeplog offers a magnificent experience through the wide open landscapes and mountain scenery of Lapland. This stage is characterized by vast plains, light traffic, and varied terrain.
Starting at Camp Vuoggatjålme, idyllically located with mountains as a backdrop, the road takes you through an area renowned for its pristine nature and rich wildlife. It’s not uncommon to spot reindeer grazing along the roadside, and with a bit of luck, you might see an eagle soaring over the open plains.
Along the way, you’ll pass several lakes, rivers, and forested areas, offering a beautiful variety in scenery. The terrain is generally easy to cycle, with a few moderate climbs that reward you with stunning viewpoints. As there are few settlements along the route, it’s advisable to bring enough food and water for the day.
Arjeplog marks the end of this stage and is beautifully situated by Lake Hornavan, Sweden’s deepest lake. The town is known for its connection to Sami culture, and here you can visit the Silver Museum to learn more about the region’s history and traditions. Arjeplog also offers accommodations and dining options, providing a comfortable place to relax after a long day on the bike. This stage is perfect for those seeking peaceful surroundings and a close connection to nature.
