The route from Hamar to Brumunddal is an easy and charming ride along paths and small roads.
There’s no need to rush away from Hamar. The Mjøsfronten area has become a beautiful spot with eateries, activities, and sun loungers – very popular on nice days. The path continues past the Skibladner dock, the diving tower, and beaches. One of the highlights is Domkirkeodden with its church ruins and open-air museum featuring old buildings. The Norwegian Railway Museum is also along the route. Continue on the path close to Lake Mjøsa towards Jessnesstranda and Fiskerhytta – a lovely rest area with a café open in the summer.
The route ahead is hilly on small roads. The signed route follows Kongsvegen, but a great alternative is to turn off towards Strandvik and follow the gravel road along the lake. It’s idyllic and peaceful here. Be mindful where the railway line is crossed.
Today’s stage ends at Mjøsparken and the Wood Hotel, a large tree hotel. Here, you’ll find beautiful recreational areas and swimming opportunities – both indoor and outdoor. Brumunddal center is a short stroll away along the River Promenade.
