Between Drammen and Kongsberg, the route follows the path of the Silver Road. The Silver Road is Norway’s first public road, built between Oslo and Kongsberg after the establishment of the Kongsberg Silver Mines in 1623. This road served as a main route until 1905 when it was replaced by a new one.

The route is winding through diverse cultural landscapes, historic industrial sites, and attractions on quiet roads. Along the way, there are numerous historically significant sites to visit, with information boards placed at various points.

The first part of the route runs along the Drammen River on well-maintained pedestrian and cycling paths. From Hokksund, the route transitions to smaller roads, passing through charming towns such as Hokksund, Vestfossen, and Darbu. Beyond this, the terrain becomes hillier, offering scenic rural surroundings before descending into Kongsberg. In Kongsberg, you’ll find several hotels, restaurants, and many historical attractions worth exploring.
