Ride Sjøenden – Halsjøen on your own

The route on your phone

Become a member to use the route with your phone. You can use the app, or open the GPX file in another map app or GPS device.

Today you will get into the wilderness as you leave Sjøenden and cross the main road between Trysil and Elverum. The gravel can be a little rough depending on preparation after the long winter, so make sure your bike has good tires for the purpose. Don´t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a moose along the way.

After 35 km you´ll reach Halsjøen. This is a beautiful spot, where you can take a swim and relax on the sandy beach. If the water level is right, you may also be able to walk out to the small island and check out the hut Kompasset. It´s also nice to camp here if you want.

At the south part of Lake Halsjøen several Statskog-cabins are bookable through inatur.no. Here you can stay close to the lake in the silence of the nature. The small village Gravberget – with a characteristic church and Gravberget Gård – a small farmhotel, is located a 3 km detour off the route.

Make sure to bring the food and drink you want for this day trip.
