Today’s cycling route takes you from Åsgårdstrand to Sandefjord via Tønsberg, offering a mix of scenic paths and cultural highlights. Leaving Åsgårdstrand, you’ll start with a short stretch of traffic before transitioning to peaceful cycling paths and small roads through the Esso Forest. Here, you’ll find a lovely picnic spot by the sea, perfect for a short break. As you approach Tønsberg, the route passes by several beautiful beaches and a serene reed area rich with birdlife.
Tønsberg, Norway’s oldest town, comes alive in the summer with its bustling harbor and vibrant atmosphere. Don’t miss a trip to Slottsfjellet, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the fjord. From Tønsberg, continue your journey toward Sandefjord along the fjord.
For a summer alternative, you can detour through Nøtterøy and Veierland, taking a ferry to Veierland – a charming, carfree island.
