Starting with a climb, but then an easy ride along Lake Mjøsa.

Return along Lake Hurdal to Hurdal Torg, and pick up the Mjøstråkk route again. The journey starts with a challenging ascent over Minneåsen, a steady four-kilometer climb through lush forests, marshlands, and lakes. For those seeking an extra thrill, add a 3.8 km detour with an additional 250 meters of elevation to visit Mistberget. Here, you can climb a fire tower for breathtaking panoramic views over Romerike.

Enjoy a thrilling descent towards Minnesund, navigating winding roads. Near the Minnesund Bridge, you´ll find Mjøsa’s maritime museum. Discover the lake’s rich history as a vital transportation route, explore 200-year-old boathouses, and admire vintage boats. The Skibladner, the world’s oldest paddle steamer still in operation, docks here for maintenance.

Pedal north on bike paths and tranquil small roads paralleling the railway, transitioning between asphalt and gravel. While there might be occasional traffic noise, the route is safe and offers stunning views of Lake Mjøsa. At Morskogen, the Norwegian Trekking Association’s cozy cabin provides a perfect spot for a restful break. With few dining options en route, a short detour to the famed Espa gas station for their legendary buns is worth it. Grocery stores are found in Hurdal, Minnesund, and Tangen.

Your destination for the day, Tangen, offers accommodations at Tangen Camping.
