It’s nice to start the day by cycling along the pier in Fredrikstad. Pay attention to pedestrians. There is quite good signposting on this stage and it is easy to follow. There are idyllic residential streets through Gressvik. The route continues through forested areas. You also pass along the sea several times with swimming opportunities, restaurants and cafes.

There are shorter stretches on dirt roads, but most cycling is done on asphalt. Farmland with sheeps grazing is a common sight. A bit of trail cycling in the area by Evje Golfpark. Be aware that several of the eateries along the way are only open during summer time/weekends, so it may be good to check in advance and – if necessary – bring some food on your own.

Today’s stage is slightly hilly with some longer hills, but fairly easy cycling. Once in Moss, there are several hotels in the city center, in addition to Refsnes Gods on Jeløya a few kilometers away.
