A calm and beautiful last day of the journey. Short and easy cycling.

If you didn’t have time to visit the museum area at Stiklestad the day before, it’s well worth starting the day with a walk through this historic site before getting back on the bike. From Stiklestad, the route heads north along quiet gravel roads that trace the western shore of Leksdalsvatnet. It’s a gentle and enjoyable stage, with rolling hills, peaceful farmland, and fine views across the water. There are several good swimming spots along the way, even if the water can be a bit murky near the shore. With little traffic and plenty of variety, this is a relaxed and rewarding day on the bike.

As you approach Steinkjer, the terrain opens up and the sense of returning grows stronger. It’s a satisfying feeling to roll back into the town where the journey began, completing the loop through Trøndelag’s varied landscapes. Steinkjer offers cafés, shops, and train connections — a perfect place to rest, reflect, and round off a memorable cycling adventure.
