This last day is a short and easy stretch with several calm places to rest.
Continue along the eastern side of Lake Aremarksjøen. Quiet, winding country roads leads through alternating landscapes of farmland and forests, offering several opportunities for pleasant stops along the way. Near Skotsberg, you briefly follow a slightly busier road for 1.5 km before returning to calm surroundings. The route then ascends gently into the hills, where quiet gravel roads offer a special sense of peace. Descending again, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Femsjøen.
From Tistedal, there are several routes into Halden— this route includes the Fredriksten Fortress. Built in 1661, it’s now a popular attraction, and the view is stunning.
The charming town of Halden offers several restaurants, accommodation options, and train connections to Oslo and Sweden.
