
This tour will take you through many of the main attractions of Bergen. Expect parks, lakes, charming narrow streets and beautiful old houses.
Start at Brygge with the colorful wooden houses, that has a place on UNESCO´s World Heritage List and is a living area full of local craft shops, restaurants and wooden alleys and backyards. Fløibanen is the funicular to the Fløi Mountain. It´s a 5-8 minutes ride and the view from the top is so beautiful, especially if the weather is good. You will have to park the bike if you want to include this trip.
Continue through the cobblestone-streets that takes you towards the Lille Lungegårdsvann – this pond with a lot of benches around, where the rhododendron flowers the whole summer and you can watch people strolling and relaxing. For a short distance you cycle in the streets or on pavements – which is allowed in Norway, but soon you get to a great cycle path around the Store Lungegårdsvann. You really get a nice view of the Ulriken Mountain and the houses in the hillside. There are benches, outdoor art pieces and wooden piers to enjoy along the water.
The next attraction is the Nygårds Park – this large park with ponds, old trees, fountains and picnic-areas is very popular and is a tranquil spot for everyone. If you want to take a swim, there is a small beach at Marineholmen. The Corner Bar is a popular place for a drink close by. Up the Olaf Ryes Road, you will get to the University area and the park Musé Garden is a small, cute spot. The streets here are nice and enjoy the varied architecture, before going down the steep Sydneskleiven. Nordnes is famous for old wooden houses, steep narrow streets and a lot of charm. You may want to push your bike at some point – just imagine the horses pulling the carriage up the hills back in the days! The path towards Nordnes Park is great for cycling, there´s a lot of places with great views and the Bergen Aquarium is located here. You follow the bike lane and the harbor back to city center and the famous Fish Market is a great place to end this trip.
It´s recommended to take this tour clock-wise due to hills and one-way directions. You can start it wherever you want.

The view from the top of Fløi Mountain is fantastic – especially when the weather is good. You may cycle to the top which will be a climb of 300 ascending meters. Or park your bike and hop on the funicular Fløibanen to the top – a 6 minute easy, breathtaking ride.

The park surrounding Lille Lungegårdsvannet is a calm little pearl right in the middle of Bergen. Relax on a bench, watch people, birds and the beautiful rhododendron flowering all summer. The cherry trees blossom is a sure sign of spring.

By Lille Lungegårdsvann you’ll find Bergen Art Museum and KODE, a group of museums showcasing Norwegian and international art, including works by Edvard Munch.

A scenic and popular lake with a view to the mountain Ulriken. The waterfront area is taking shape, with art installations, bathing piers and open spaces creating a lively atmosphere along the water.

Nygårds Park is built in a classical british style and is an important recreational area for locals. In summertime the park is full of people relaxing, having a picnic or barbeque.

Marineholmen offers a small beach and cafés.

A small, beautiful garden next to the University Museum is well worth a visit. Enjoy the tranquility among the flowers and trees.

The fortress from 1706 is located on the hills at Nordnes. It´s a nice viewpoint with benches in the park.

Enjoy outdoor swimming - both in the sea and in a heated salt water pool.

Nordnes in Bergen is a charming peninsula known for its scenic parks and picturesque waterfront views. Bergen Aquarium is located here.

The Aquarium in Bergen is Norway’s largest aquarium, giving visitors a close-up experience of marine life and a popular attraction for all ages.

The Fish Market is located in the heart of the city by the harbor side. Here you can buy fresh seafood and enjoy a good meal.
