Bergen
Welcome to beautiful Bergen – where ocean meets mountains on the west coast of Norway
Bergen is full of narrow streets, cobblestone, hills, great views, old wooden houses, parks and lakes. Spring comes early to the west coast and when the rhododendron flowers blossom you wouldn´t wanna be any other place. The city is also the gate to the Fjords of Norway!
With the bicycle you can easily cover many of Bergen’s attractions and stop wherever you want. Enjoy the beautiful parks and cycle around the cozy lakes. In case of rain, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to take a rest. Cycle along the famous Bryggen – the colorful wooden houses listed on UNESCO´s World Heritage List. Continue to Old Bergen Museum, before returning along Fjellveien with the best view of the city.
For a longer trip, head south for a nice and varied roundtrip. Places to see on the way is the beautiful Fana Stave Church, Edvard Grieg´s home Troldhaugen and the old castle Gamlehaugen. The old Osbanen railway is another highlight with a nature trail that takes you around Kalandsvatnet.
MTB Bergen
The mountains surrounding Bergen makes the MTB-cycling hilly. It´s a combination of open mountain paths and more technical forest paths. The season is long due to mild coastal climate, and Bergen is known to be a rainy place. See Trailguide for tour suggestions.
