Pilgrimsruta, also known as National Cycle Route No. 7, is a long route that stretches from the Swedish border to the vibrant city of Lillehammer, weaving its way through the heart of Norway.

The Pilgrimroute is part of the EuroVelo route 3 between Santiago de Compostela in Spain and Trondheim in Norway.  In this feature, we focus on the captivating journey from Svinesund to Lillehammer. The route will pass through Oslo, Norway’s trendsetting capital, with its cutting-edge architecture and stunning natural beauty. At the historic place Eidsvoll, the Norwegian Constitution was penned and adopted in 1814. Cyclists will be treated to a splendid cultural landscape of charming rural roads and picturesque farms nestled within a lush countryside along Lake Mjøsa.

Lillehammer, situated in the enchanting Gudbrandsdalen valley, is the final stop on the journey, for now. Be sure to visit Maihaugen, an open-air museum that offers a captivating glimpse into Norway’s rich history and heritage. Great train connections makes it easy to start and end where you want.
